Coeur d’Alene physician Stanley Toelle was sentenced Tuesday to one month in federal prison after previously pleading guilty to misleading tax collectors about his tax returns for 2012 and 2013.

Toelle previously pleaded guilty to reduced charges in connection the investigation that ensnared his ex-wife, 52-year-old Loren M. Toelle, a Las Vegas stripper who was sentenced on May 2 to 17 1/2 years in federal prison for overseeing a vast drug distribution ring that stretched from Washington to North Dakota.

Stanley Toelle maintained that he did not know that his wife ran a drug distribution ring form 2009 to 2016 and included four of her five adult children, several friends and others.

U.S. District Court Judge Lynn Winmill ordered Stanley Toelle to pay about $47,500 to cover what he owed for back taxes and a $5,000 fine
