Physicians and surgeons in New Hampshire have the highest average compensation at $275,840, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics data collected in May 2018.
Here are the top 10 states with the highest average compensation:
1. New Hampshire: $275,840
2. North Dakota: $266,510
3. Maine: $257,550
4. Montana: $247,260
5. Minnesota: $245,040
6. Alaska: $244,220
7. Idaho: $241,670
8. Wisconsin: $239,610
9. Washington: $239,080
10. Indiana: $237,470
