Eligibility
Be regular, honorary, or international members of the National Honor Society for three (3) continuous years immediately prior to election and must have been be a licensed practicing doctor at the time of election. Maintenance of "Fellow" status requires continued membership in the National Honor Society. In addition, the following requirements demonstrating evidence of high professional standing must be met by candidates some time during their professional career prior to application.
At least three years of active involvement in medical as their chief professional activity, inclusive of internships, and;
Satisfaction of at least three of the following individual criteria during their professional career:
Active involvement as a front-line physician providing direct patient care to COVID patients.
Heroic acts of kindness as related to the pandemic.v
Active involvement in the preparation and training of safety measures for physicians, medical students, and front-line public health volunteers.
Active involvement as a leader providing care to the underserved, including the elderly, the homeless, and other vulnerable populations.
Active involvement in medical research related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Active involvement in the support and maintenance of any college or university medical program or medical training or licensure program.
Heroic acts of kindness protecting children, students and teachers (at-risk) in any daycare or educational program.
Personal sacrifice due to working extra hours, shifts, or days to provide direct patient care to COVID patients.
Personal sacrifice due to relocation to help hospitals and clinics needed additional physicians.
Heroic acts of providing shelter, comfort and aid to other physicians during the pandemic.
Acting as an advisior, expert or spokesman for local, state or federal programs related to the pandemic.
