Rules of NAMD Designation
The National Association of Medical Doctors has established the following rules of designation.
Eligibility
The following designations shall apply to the different member classes, to both recognize and distinguish our members.
Full Member
Full memberships are open to individuals who are qualified as Registered Doctors as determined by the NAMD and have a license to practice doctor issued by a US state, it`s territories, or a Canada licensing authority.
Fellow
Shall denote all RDs that are Full Members of NAMD with active memberships that have been accepted into the National Honor Society. All Full Members may use the designation "Fellow, NAMD" or "NAMD Fellow" as they see fit. However, this designation shall not be used in any manner that may cause harm or damage to the name and/or reputation of the Society. In such instances, a Full Member may be stripped of this designation.
Associate Fellow
Shall denote all RDs that are Associate Members of the Society with active memberships. All Associate Members may use the designation "Associate Fellow, NAMD" or "NAMD, Associate Fellow" as they see fit. However, this designation shall not be used in any manner that may cause harm or damage to the name and/or reputation of the Society. In such instances, an Associate Member may be stripped of this designation.
International Fellow
Shall denote all RDs that are International Members of the Society with active memberships. All International Members may use the designation "International Fellow, NAMD" or "NAMD, International Fellow" as they see fit. However, this designation shall not be used in any manner that may cause harm or damage to the name and/or reputation of the Society. In such instances, an International Member may be stripped of this designation.
Other Designations
Honorable
Shall denote a person of esteemed character, otherwise ineligible for membership in the Society, who has rendered distinguished service to the medical profession.
This designation shall be bestoyed by the Executive Council in accordance with the Medical Society's By-Laws.
Emeritus
Denotes a member in good standing for 15 successive years and has either attained the age of 70, or has attained the age of 60 and is retired from or unable to continue working in the profession.
This designation shall be bestoyed by the Executive Council in accordance with the Medical Society's By-Laws.
